About the Role

The Assistant Hotel Manager supports the day-to-day operations of the hotel, ensuring exceptional guest experiences, smooth team coordination, and ‘hands on’ operational excellence. This role is ideal for a hospitality professional with a passion for boutique service, attention to detail, and leadership in a dynamic environment.

Oversee and execute daily hotel operations in a ‘hands on’ manner, including front office, housekeeping, and food & beverage service.
In collaboration with the General Manager implement operational strategies to enhance guest service standards to exceed the expectations of guests, as well as regularly conduct on-the-job service delivery reviews both ‘front and back of house’ to ensure these standards are being maintained.
Be familiar with the property facilities and services along with the regions attractions and offerings to properly inform guests and other key stakeholders.
Manage and respond quickly and professionally to all guest feedback directed providing relevant action and follow up.
Maintain a strong understanding of the property management system and assist in managing bookings, check-ins/outs, and concierge style services.
Monitor inventory, supplies, and maintenance needs.
Contribute to marketing initiatives, events, and guest engagement strategies.
In collaboration with the General Manager create a working culture that encourages the learning and growth of all team members maintaining a highly motivated and participative workforce.
Support the General Manager with team member supervision and performance management.
Uphold and assist in the management and compliance of health, safety, and licensing regulations.
Act as Duty Manager in the absence of the General Manager.

Qualifications & Experience

Minimum 2 years’ experience in a supervisory or assistant manager role in hospitality.
Strong understanding of boutique or luxury hotel operations.
Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills.
Proficiency in hotel management software (RMS preferred) and Microsoft Office Suite.
Ability to lead by example and foster a positive team culture.
Flexibility to work weekends, holidays, and varied shifts.
Responsible Service of Alcohol certification (RSA) – Required.

Desirable Attributes

Knowledge of the Orange region and local tourism offerings.
Experience in heritage or design-led boutique accommodation environments.
First Aid certifications.
