We are looking for a motivated Commis Chef to join our team at Yallungah Boutique Hotel, 62 Byng Street, Orange, NSW — a one-of-a-kind destination that fuses contemporary art and striking design in a beautifully restored heritage homestead.
Role overview
The Commis Chef will assist in the preparation of dishes, ensuring high standards of food quality and presentation. This entry-level position is ideal for individuals passionate about cooking and eager to learn from experienced chefs.

Key responsibilities
- Assist in preparing ingredients, including washing, peeling and chopping vegetables, and seasoning meats
- Perform basic cooking tasks under the supervision of senior chefs, such as grilling, frying and baking
- Maintain cleanliness in the kitchen and ensure hygiene standards are met
- Help with receiving deliveries, organising stock and taking inventory
- Rotate through different kitchen stations to gain experience and learn various cooking techniques
- Assist in plating and presenting dishes according to the chef’s instructions
